Marvel intentionally implements incredible storylines for fans to explore. And one of these amazing details was noted in Spider-Man: No Coming Home.
Back to the origin of Spider-Man
We all know that Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man was bitten by a radioactive spider created by Oscorp Industries. And the case was the same as Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man. But, there wasn’t a script for all the spider-biting plotlines for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man.
Yes, said Tom Holland in Captain America: Civil War, that since the day that spider bit him, everything has changed. But who created this spider? Do you think it’s Oscorp Industries like all the other Marvel movies?
It’s not!
Stark Industries has created the Radioactive Spider! (Most likely)
Do you remember the scene of Spider-Man: No Coming Home when Aunt May gave refuge to Green Goblin, aka Harry Osborn.
Do you remember what he said? He said, “I went to my house and someone else was living there. There is no Oscorp here. I’m confused.”
Oscorp Industries doesn’t exist in this MCU timeline or on Earth 616. So the spider that bit Tom Holland’s Peter Parker was likely created by one of the greatest labs in the entire MCU.
There are two options, it could be Princess Wakandan Shuri or billionaire-philanthropist Tony Stark.
At that time in history when Tom Holland was introduced, Wakanda was a secret country, and they didn’t release any of their technology or experiments into the open world.
So it was probably Stark Industries and Tony Stark who created the radioactive spider. And that thought now connects the dots on how Tony found it so easy and convenient to get in touch with Peter Parker.
When Natasha, aka Black Widow, showed Tony a viral video clip of the nerd Spider-Man, they probably knew it was the kid who got bitten by the Spider in Stark Laboratories. Thus, Tony has a soft corner for him, as he believes that with great power he has just exposed a teenager to a world of danger.
How did Earth 616’s Peter Parker have to be bitten by Stark Lab’s radioactive spider?
Peter Parker has often discussed with Tony that he used to visit all Stark Expo events. So what if, during one of these events, Peter Parker doesn’t return home but breaks into Stark’s labs?
So the story should look like this:
Peter enters Stark Laboratories, and since it is dark, he is slow in his steps. He soon begins to notice a small, tiny cage that is empty. He didn’t care a bit and went further to satisfy his curiosity to know what was going on inside Stark Laboratories.
This is the moment when the spider swings straight from the ceiling and lands on his shoulder without him realizing it. He bites Peter’s open arms at the end of the sleeve. Peter shook his hand and the spider just galloped off in the dark.
Peter didn’t point this out and decided to end his quest to break into Stark Laboratories. He tells Ned on the earpiece that he’s coming back because he didn’t find anything cool here. He says, “No cool stuff, no Iron Man armor, just a stupid spider that bit me for no reason. Maybe Tony Stark should hire someone to clean up the cobwebs. They both laughed and Peter went home.
Later, Stark must have realized that someone had entered the premises and found an empty spider cage. He walked through the cameras, but Peter is a genius beyond time and has his tech-savvy friend Ned by his side.
The cameras were probably hacked. We’ve seen Peter and Ned hack the multi-billion Spidey suit. So that’s something you can expect from them.
The spider was probably in the testing phase, so no one in the lab knew what might happen if it bit someone.
Also, Tony was unaware that someone had been bitten by the radioactive spider. So he just put the case down because they knew the scientific techniques to lure the spider into its cage. And since no significant technology was stolen, Tony didn’t press the point.
So that’s probably how Tom Holland’s Peter Parker became Earth 616’s friendly Spider-Man.
