The more my white hair grows, the less I want to take and post pictures of myself. 👻 But I wanted to post a photo with this poem that took me 3 days to write & I didn’t want to rely on a past photo. So I am channeling a release from my grip on my vanity and insecurity, instead of going with the flow, as I attempted with this poem. 🤍 These stanzas were born from reflections on my white hair and my battle with a little spider to stop weaving its web on my balcony. The canvas made me shiver and swear every time I walked on my balcony in the dark; it tickled my flesh and stuck to my hair. At first, I used a criterion to rip the web. The same criteria I used to knight Lavi since I always call him “young gentleman” (I used to call Roxi “young lady”). I don’t need quarantine to be this weird, so don’t blame it. 🤪 Anyway, after 3 days of the spider rebuilding its web – its home – I stopped beating about its existence. Eventually the wind had to move it in the night, and it reminded me that one day the wind will pick up my ashes and move me too. 💀 This poem isn’t perfect, but I decided to post it anyway. I call that bravery, not in the sense of facing fire or being in the line of fire, but in the sense of showing vulnerability. 🤍 Please don’t steal my poem. At least wait until I solidify and polish it before you break my copyright laws. I’m joking. Never steal my handwriting, no matter the form. 👿 🕸 Fine threads Swinging in the breeze Little bulbous spider Spinning at the epicenter She doesn’t know Human’s tornado Soon to emit From the sway of a stallion. 🕸 Thin threads Dangling from flower pots Little bulbous spider Rushing to safety The human hardly suspects The spider’s intellect Soon to weave Through the depths of his sorrow. 🕸 Fine Threads Appearing again Little bulbous spider Dwelling in dewdrops Few creatures consider Nature’s plunder Soon to join Beyond the limits of this earth. 🕸 ~ Jodi Leigh Miller 🕸 🕸 🕸 🤍 #mondaymotivation #poetry #writer #poetryofinstagram #fitover40 #murves #girlswithbiceps #womenwholift #dachshund #dogmom #grayhairdocare #converse #girlswithmuscle
