Who is Fayez Tlaib?
Fayez Tlaib is somewhat unknown in the media, and only goes by being Rashida’s now ex-husband. He was born on July 1, 1976 in Beit Ur al-Fauqa, a Palestinian village in the governorate of Ramallah and al-Bireh in the northern West Bank. The two married in 1998 when Rashida was just 22 and eventually divorced in 2015, but not before welcoming two sons, Adam and Yousif. Fayez has remained out of public life, and there is no information about him or his current whereabouts.

Born Rashida Harbi on July 24, 1975 in Detroit, Michigan, United States, she is the eldest of 14 children born to working-class parents.
Growing up, she took care of her younger siblings while her parents worked to support the family. She attended Southwestern High School, from which she enrolled in 1994. After which, she enrolled at Wayne State University, from which she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1998 Then Rashida continued her education by earning a Juris Doctor degree from Western Michigan University Cooley School of Law.
Early career
Rashida’s political career began in 2004 when she was an intern under Steve Tobocman.
Three years later, Steve took the position of Majority Floor Leader and Rashida became a member of his team. The following year, she ran for her seat, as Tobocman had to relinquish her position due to term limits, and won the vote with over 90% to her name.
Two years later, Rashida had to fight for re-election because Jim Chazchorowski was her challenger. Nonetheless, Rashida got 85% of the vote, while in the general election she got an impressive 92% of the vote, when her opponent was Republican Darrin Daigle. Rashida went on to win elections as in 2012 she was re-elected to the Michigan House.
Two years later, she had to decide what to do further in her career, as she could no longer run for the seat due to term limits. She opted for the Michigan Senate, however, she lost the election to Virgil Smith Jr.
Rashida then served as a legislator until she decided to run for the United States House of Representatives seat in Michigan’s 13th congressional district. She won the Democratic nomination in 2018 and went unopposed in the general election, becoming the first woman of Palestinian ancestry in Congress and the first Muslim woman to serve in the Michigan legislature.

Upon being sworn into Congress on January 3, 2019, Rashida shot to fame and became popular among a number of Palestinian and Palestinian-American women.
