In 2015, Netflix released Drew Goddard’s daredevil on its streaming platform. The action and crime-filled television series was an instant hit, receiving positive reviews from critics as well as fans. The show featured Charlie Cox in the lead role as he takes on the Matt Murdock/Daredevil persona. However, despite all the positive feedback from fans and casual audiences, the show was canceled in 2018 by Netflix. In 2022, Disney saw an opportunity to license the Daredevil character and made the deal, which is why you saw Matt Murdock’s short cameo in the latest Spider-Man movie.

Now the character is set to make her Disney+ debut in the new She-Hulk: Lawyer series. But unfortunately for fans who loved the gritty nature of the original Netflix series, The Man Without Fear won’t have as dark an overtone on its Disney+ debut as it did on the 2015 series.
A brand new Daredevil in She-Hulk: Lawyer
Matt Murdock isn’t going to look as badass, or at least as scary as he did in Daredevil (2015), in the new Disney+ TV series.
The creator of She-Hulk: lawyer, Jessica Gao, had a chat with The Direct, where she opened up about how she plans to bring the seemingly dark character of Charlie Cox into the show.
“Well, first of all, we were shocked that we could use it. Like, when we first heard it was on the table, I mean, we couldn’t believe it. We didn’t ‘ We kept thinking, ‘Okay, at some point, someone is going to say, ‘Just kidding.’ Like, ‘That’s a cruel joke, and you can’t have it.’ And it just went on and on.
In another excerpt from the interview, Gao further explains how she will get a “lighter side” of the masked vigilante in his new show-
“And it was so fun to be able to do – and we do with every character cameo in the MCU – do we take them from the environment that you know them in, which is a much more dramatic and oriented role action, much more serious, and we bring them into our world and they play in a She-Hulk tone. And they got to explore and we can see a lighter side of that character.
Fans of the 2015 series won’t be thrilled, but who knows, Gao just might do the character justice.

Rosario Dawson played the role of Claire Temple in Daredevil (2015), and she couldn’t be happier that the series is coming back to life. The 43-year-old actress spoke about the reboot during a panel at the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo-
“Marvel has continued to do that now with the MCU characters, to now see our shows become part of the canon and part of the MCU. Now it has 18 new episodes, it couldn’t happen to a bigger person, and, I don’t know, we’re really excited about it.
Will she resume her role as the woman who once again tends to Murdock’s wounds? Only time can tell.
Daredevil: Born Again is set to premiere on Disney+ in early 2024.
