Michael B. Jordan can be seen sporting the iconic Superman suit in a new concept art that shows the actor becoming Val-Zod to replace Henry Cavill’s Kal-El.
Val-Zod is DC’s Superman on Earth 2, a reality where Clark Kent died and fellow Kryptonian Val-Zod took his place as the Man of Steel. There has been a lot of talk surrounding the character coming to the big screen in a project currently being developed by JJ Abrams and Ta-Nehisi Coates.
Michael B. Jordan’s name has often come up as a strong candidate to play the role of Val-Zod. This new concept art shows what Jordan could look like in the role.
The concept design, shared on Instagram by the “apexform” artist, shows Michael B. Jordan donning Val-Zod’s distinctive blue and silver version of Superman’s suit.
There has recently been talk of Henry Cavill returning to the DCEU as Superman. With Cavill playing the classic Kal-El version of the DC character, there would certainly be room for him and Michael B. Jordan to appear as alternate universe incarnations of the Man of Steel.

With much of DC Films’ future plans now in question, as Warner Bros. Discovery charts a new course for their DC release, it’s unclear when the JJ Abrams-produced film will Superman film will materialize or what form it may take. However, if DC chooses to start exploring alternate realities, Michael B. Jordan certainly seems well-placed to follow in Henry Cavill’s Kryptonian footsteps.
Superman was last seen in Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Here is the synopsis:
“In ZACK SNYDER’S JUSTICE LEAGUE, determined to ensure that Superman’s (Henry Cavill) ultimate sacrifice is not in vain, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) aligns his forces with Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) with plans to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from an imminent threat of catastrophic proportions. The task proves more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must confront the demons of their own past to transcend what has held them back, allowing them to come together, finally forming an unprecedented league of heroes. Now united, Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and The Flash (Ezra Miller) may be coming too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad and Darkseid and their terrible intentions.”
