breaking Bad, the American crime drama television series is created and produced by Vince Gilligan. The setting is set in New Mexico and tells the story of Walter White (Bryan Cranston), an underpaid, overqualified, and discouraged high school chemistry teacher who suffers from stage three lung cancer. Along with his former student, Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), he entered the world of crime as a crystal meth distributor to secure his family’s financial future before he died.
The show began airing on AMC on January 20, 2008. It consisted of five seasons with a total of 62 episodes. As the prequel series draws to a close, the series creator has expressed his desire to no longer renew the franchise.
Vince Gilligan doesn’t want to continue the Breaking Bad franchise

At the 2022 Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour, Gould and Vince Gilligan said they didn’t want to continue the The Breaking Bad universe more even though they haven’t denied the possibility of getting back together either. He said he was happy with the results but needed to know when to stop.
“We probably pushed him to do a spin-off of ‘Breaking Bad.’ Couldn’t be happier with the results, then I did ‘El Camino’ [a ‘Breaking Bad’ sequel film]and I’m very proud of that, but… you better know when to leave the party.
He further says that he wants to prove that he is not a “one trick pony”. He wants to prove that he can also explore and create different stories. He also said he loved the cast and wanted to work with them again but in a different universe.
“So I don’t intend to do anything more in this universe at this time”, I know I was asked at the end of “Breaking Bad” and I gave the same answer. I have to prove to myself that I’m not a one trick pony. I love working with these people – I want the band to stay together no matter what, but with a different universe.
On the other hand, Peter Gould, the producer of Breaking Bad, is more open to the idea of doing another project within the breaking Bad world.
“I couldn’t be happier and more proud of my job, but like Vince, I think there are other things I want to try. That said, I love Albuquerque. I like Bob Odenkirk, I like Rhea Seehorn, I like Vince Gilligan. So we will keep as many band members together as possible, and also, never say never. Who knows how we’re going to feel in a few years? »

Bob Odenkirk shares his thoughts on You better call Saul said he did not expect such a positive response from the public as well as critics. He thanked them for being sensitive towards the series.
“I’m so used to being knocked down in Hollywood that you don’t even care about people looking at it and judging it.”
“Critics and audiences, right away, said, ‘Okay, they’re doing something interesting here.’ And I didn’t expect it. I give full credit to audiences and critics for their sensitivity and caring. But also, I pay tribute to Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould, who didn’t get “Breaking Bad” on the road. until you are exhausted.
AMC boss Dan McDermott wants Breaking Bad back

AMC boss Dan McDermott said he wouldn’t let go of the opportunity to cheer on Gilligan and Gould for another story in the The Breaking Bad universe.
“I can tell you that if I could do anything to encourage Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould to continue in this universe, I would,” he said, “I think you should ask them, but the door is still open and I’m looking forward to the day when my phone rings and Vince or Peter or our friends at Sony call and say, ‘Hey, I think we’ve got another show in this universe.
While some fans are looking forward to the franchise’s potential future, Gilligan is currently unsure about the future and wants to try new things. He wants to get out of his comfort zone. He just doesn’t want to just keep expanding the universe without a proper purpose or goal.
The season finale episode of You better call Saul airs on AMC on August 15, 2022.
