The penultimate episode of Season 4, the most heartbreaking of this season, saw many people suffer tragic consequences.
Bernard, who was trying to find a method to save humanity, perishes. According to his plan, he attacked the tower with a resurrected Maeve, who engaged in combat alongside Hale. Meanwhile, C, nicknamed Frankie, and Stubbs raided Hale’s establishment through Olympiad Entertainment where they discovered her father Caleb.
Both Hale and Maeve were brutally killed by William following their altercation. Then, after killing Bernard, he went to the top of the tower where Bernard was leaving a message for someone. William also murdered his real self, which had been kept alive by Hale in a cryogenic cage, earlier in the episode.
In a cruel and evil game of survival of the fittest, William turned on himself and killed other people in the towns after killing Bernard. He entered the city himself in the final scene of the episode.
Teddy, meanwhile, made Christina, who was trying to stop people from fighting, realize that she couldn’t stop them because they couldn’t see her.
