Giancarlo Esposito has been a hot topic of discussion among Marvel Cinematic Universe fans recently. From Doctor Doom to Professor X to Magneto, there has been a lot of speculation regarding the inclusion of The Boys actor in Fortress Kevin Feige. While it’s still unclear if he actually had a role in the MCU, during a recent event it was revealed that he was approached a few years ago for a role in the Loki series.

Interestingly, Giancarlo Esposito’s inclusion in MCU has only been postponed so we can put him in a better avatar and if the rumors turn out to be true he may be one of the most memorable characters ever created by the studio.
Giancarlo Esposito almost got a role in Loki
Recently appearing at the Fan Expo in Boston, Giancarlo Esposito opened up about his rumored MCU appearance in front of the public and revealed that a few years ago the Gus Fring actor was approached by the studio.

According to Esposito, he got an undisclosed role in Disney+ Loki series but pulled it off because he wanted to land a role in a major movie instead of a series.
“I think it was Loki.”
While we don’t know what role he was supposed to play in the series, it’s clear that his inclusion in the MCU will now be greater than it would have been in the Disney+ series.

Giancarlo Esposito hints at the casting of Professor X
While Giancarlo Esposito explained how he was almost cast as Loki, he also shed some light on his seemingly major appearance in the MCU’s future. At his recent Fan Expo in Boston, he said if he was playing Professor X, he would have played him with grace and composure:
“I would play this character with strength, grace and composure. Someone who controls chaos, but someone who also has the ability to uplift and inspire.
“So, we talked about Magneto, we talked about Dr. Freeze, we talked about, who else are they talking about over there? Oh, Doom! And there’s Professor X. Pick one? I’m going to go for something a little different. I’m going to go tell the universe that it’s Professor X.”
Even though we still don’t have any official update from the House of Kevin Feige regarding Esposito’s appearance in MCU, it’s safe to say that confirmation could be coming soon as Marvel is never slow to surprise its fans.
