It’s been a while now since all DC bat girl fiasco has taken place but it looks like the fire hasn’t been put out yet as another Batgirl co-star has come forward to disband the studio over it. The new CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery’s David Zaslav has canceled Leslie Grace’s next star after it received very poor reviews during his screening test. Since then, various stars and fellow filmmakers have come forward to give their thoughts on the decision. While few thought it would help DC in the long run if they wanted to establish a real cinematic universe like MCU, but on the other hand, few felt it was right.

Batgirl co-star disappointed with the Studio
The decision made by Warner Bros. Discovery’s focus more on quality content rather than quantity seems to have backfired hugely, as a co-star in the film has been harshly criticizing the CEO as well as the studio for it. It must be remembered that the stars and crew associated with the film have a much more integral connection to their work and that is what hurt the associates of this film the most.

In a recent comment on an Indiewire article, a bat girl co-star shared how extremely disappointed he was with this decision by Zaslav and even continued to describe him as a coward. According to him, it was very cowardly on the part of the studio to have trashed the film just based on the early reviews. He added that starring Leslie Grace required a lot of hard work from all cast and crew and that WB is ignoring them all:
“I have felt tremendous comfort (and sincere sadness) reading your excellent article and reviewing this whole nightmare. The multiple streaming paths and their vague guarantees seem anything but secure. I am very offended by what happened and I feel very bad for the directors and Leslie Grace, who was great to work with, and all the technicians.
He added that it was an extremely difficult condition for them to work in the cold climes of Glasgow, but none of that bothered the heads of WB studios:
“It was a huge and rewarding challenge to make this film during Covid and during the cold weather in Glasgow. None of these things matter to a fool like [Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav]. His cowardice is breathtaking. I’m glad I was able to participate and wish the best to everyone involved – with the exception of the costumes from Warner Brothers. But they are all replaced sooner rather than later.
Even though DC has announced that all of these steps they are taking are due to the 10-year plan they are working on, it still welcomes a lot of criticism from certain sectors.
Will danger continue to lurk in more DC films?

With the cancellation of bat girl, the fandom is now pretty sure that DC’s next slate may undergo several changes. Many films can now fall under the waste section, as David Zaslav has made it clear that they will now only release quality films which they hope can bring them more profit as well as a positive response.
Now, it will be a very exciting wait to see if the DC Cinematic Universe can reach the heights of the MCU with its new plans and techniques.
