Good news for Marvel fans, because it looks like Marvel hasn’t given up Armor Wars. On Twitter recently, actor Don Cheadle who plays James Rhodes addressed some fans’ longstanding concerns about the future of the show. At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, the Hall H panel was dedicated to Marvel Studios’ upcoming projects and offered fans a glimpse of what’s to come. For many, the announcement of the Marvel Phase 5 and Phase 6 slate at SDCC was a bag full of surprises.

Unfortunately, the public felt uneasy when they saw no mention of Armor Wars. Even on Twitter, people were quick to point out the title’s absence and it made many believe the project was never going to see the light of day. Until now.
Don Cheadle rekindles hope

Many rumors have circulated around this long-awaited project. Filming dates speculated to fans assuming the series was canceled – Armor Wars has been a central topic of discussion for some time now. In 2020, on December 10, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige revealed that the series was being created for Disney+ and would see Don Cheadle at the forefront of the premise. However, since then, there have been no concrete updates on when the series is expected to release or begin filming, only speculation.

On Twitter, Don Cheadle came to ease the tension among fans and gave a playful and coy hint at what the future will bring to those anticipating the project. Here’s what the actor had to say in response to a fan who wanted an update on the show:

This cryptic Tweet, while failing to provide a definitive answer, implied that something or the other was coming soon. Previously, head writer Yassir Lester also reassured fans via Instagram stories and promised that the show would be “always comes out.” MCU fans may have no reason to worry about a possible cancellation, as two major figures involved in the production of the series would not be happy to give eager fans false hope.

To say fans are thrilled would be an understatement. Reacting to Cheadle’s tweet, many people believe that some form of official announcement regarding Armor Wars will take place at Disney’s D23 Expo 2022, which is scheduled to take place September 9-11 in Anaheim, California. While nothing is confirmed yet, fans might not be too far off from the truth. Therefore, the month of September could be quite revealing.

While the CCSD announcements lacked the mention of Armor Wars, he also didn’t give full details on what the MCU’s future will bring. There might be a reason the Phase 6 slate seemed so empty, besides mentions of only three upcoming movies. What we can see is that Armor Wars what will happen; when or how is the question for now.
