WATCH: Georgia cops are suspended after a video of them using the n-word goes viral online.
A Georgian police officer was filmed making racial slurs while executing a warrant on August 7, 2022. The officer seen in the video, along with four other officers involved in the case, were eventually suspended after that the video has become very popular online.
On August 7, resident of the home, Tomeshia Madden, posted the incriminating video on Facebook and said she and her teenage son no longer felt comfortable there and had started looking for new places to move. .
West Point police, according to media reports, were there to execute a warrant for Madden’s son. To serve the warrant, they went to the Booker Hills home, but no one was there.
The Georgia Police Department has granted Donald Bramblett, who was identified as the officer heard using the n-word on tape, a leave of absence. Constables Dylan Harmon, Heyboer, Osteen, William and Wegienka all participated in the incident and received similar discharge directives.

A GBI investigation into the situation has begun.
A cop waits at the entrance in the video. They start rambling incoherently as a second officer approaches.
Unaware that there was another camera above him, one of the officers then allegedly uttered a racial slur by dismantling the home’s security system and throwing it into the surrounding bushes.
Georgia police have been harshly criticized after a viral video
The video was also featured on popular Reddit site r/PublicFreakout, where it received more than 200 comments exposing the pervasive bigotry in rural Georgia.
u/arch nyc makes the following point:
“In a rural Georgian area, I grew up. I have to say that I haven’t lived there since the middle of the last decade. You wouldn’t believe how racist the typical white person was even then. In the presence of only white people, they would be polite in public, but I had seen just about everyone I knew refer to African Americans using the N-word.
Officers should be fired, according to a comment from another user, u/Optimal Locke.
The message reads as follows:
“Suspended? They should be fired and banned from working as cops again. They EXTREMELY show racial bias and hostility towards people of color, and they don’t have anything to do with being security guards, again less police.
Tomeshia Madden filed a misconduct complaint after the incident. Wendell Major, Madden’s attorney, issued the following statement to the media:
“It is inappropriate for public officials to use racial slurs in the line of duty. In our culture, young black men are frequently implicated, and they must provide proof that they are innocent. Here, an officer in uniform tries to hide the evidence of what happened.
Officers will continue to be on administrative leave while GBI conducts its investigation. Once the investigation is complete, authorities will forward the case to the Coweta Circuit Court Prosecutor’s Office for review.
