A registered sex offender was reportedly arrested early August 17 in Paulden, Ariz., after he allegedly broke into a Yavapai County home and began fondling a pre-teen girl who was dozing in her bed.
The suspect, Lloyd Alan Beard, 54, a Prescott resident, is a registered Level 3 sex offender with Yavapai County. At approximately 3 a.m., Yavapai County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to a trespass that was taking place at a residence near Little Ranch Road and State Route 89 in Paulden. The suspect, according to the sheriff’s office, entered the woman’s home where her 12-year-old daughter and 16-year-old son also reside. According to reports, Beard approached the girl’s bed as she was dozing off.
The youngster claimed the suspect touched his face before he managed to wake his mother, who then dragged the man out of the house, according to the sheriff’s office. When the mother confronted Beard in the yard, he allegedly exposed himself and threatened to ‘drop’ her. Beard then apparently refused to leave the house. Officials said Beard left the scene soon after, chased down the road by the woman and her teenage son. When deputies arrived, they discovered Beard lying on the ground with his pants down and some minor injuries from his fight with the unnamed woman. Prior to being arrested, the suspect received medical treatment at a hospital, according to the sheriff’s office.
Authorities say Beard just registered with the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office and is a Category 3 sex offender. In Colorado, he was previously convicted of “invasion of privacy for sexual gratification.” . Beard was also convicted of a sex offense in Arizona, according to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office Offender Registry. According to the register, he resided near the scene of the break-in. As a result, Beard is now charged with aggravated assault, second-degree burglary, first-degree criminal trespassing, indecent exposure, voyeurism and disorderly conduct, among other offences. According to jail records, Wednesday night he was being held in the medical facility at the Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
