The John Wick director Chad Stahelski explains how lead actor Keanu Reeves is the main reason for the franchise’s success. Chad Stahelski recently produced the film Day shift for Netflix with Jamie Foxx and Dave Franco.
During a conversation regarding the new Netflix movie, the director shared some information about the relationship shared between him and the Matrix actor. He explained that after an extended journey of three films in addition to being his stunt double for so many years, the bond is very strong between the two. There’s confidence, and so Keanu Reeves isn’t shy about doing things the way Stahelski wants.

The franchise still lives up to its name as one of the most unique and best choreographed action sequences of all time in Hollywood. With every movie, it seems like the creators are always trying to do something new in the action department.

John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum is the latest film in the franchise and is also the highest-grossing of the three films. The riding sequence in the film is one of the most iconic sequences in the film. There’s hardly anyone who didn’t love Keanu Reeves riding a horse in the middle of the road with full swag and shooting a bunch of guys.
Elaborating on the relationship with Keanu Reeves and other crew members, Chad Stahelski said:
“Our success has lent us the ear of some leaders who are a little more confident now,” Stahelski says. “So when I say, ‘Keanu’s gonna ride, he’s gonna slide cars around the Arc [de Triomphe] and we’re going to have a big stunt with dogs biting their crotches,” people are taking me a little more seriously. So there’s a better trust between us now, and they’re allowing that to happen.
Recently, it was also reported that the creators could turn the action franchise into a colossal cinematic universe. Now, with a fifth film also reportedly in development, a cinematic universe is entirely possible.

with the next John Wick: Chapter 4 being slated for 2023, it is also reported that a fifth installment is also in development. Even though Chapter 4 is coming out in the coming year, it was originally planned for 2021 but that couldn’t be possible due to the pandemic.
According to Keanu Reeves, the actor has no problem with the franchise and is ready to do the movies as long as it brings more profit and appreciation to the masses. So as of now, the future of the franchise looks brighter, and we haven’t gotten any jaw-dropping footage yet.
