Daniel Craig’s James Bond Replacement Likely To Skew A Lot Younger

Daniel Craig’s successor as the next James Bond will likely be younger, according to a report.

After 15 years, Daniel Craig has officially retired from his role as James Bond. The actor debuted in the 2006 reboot, Casino Royale, and went on to appear in four more films: Quantum of Solace, Skyfall, Spectre, and No time to die. Now producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson are looking for a new actor to take on the role, and reports claim they are looking for younger actors.

According to Express, the producers are looking for actors in their thirties to face James Bond. Daniel Craig was 38 when he starred in Casino Royale, and is now 54 years old. The report made this claim after Foreign actor Sam Heughan has been “disqualified” from consideration. Heughan is 42 years old.

With age apparently being a major factor in Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson finding a new James Bond, that likely puts actors such as Idris Elba and Henry Cavill out of the running as candidates. These two actors have long been fan favorites to succeed Daniel Craig. In the meantime, fan-favorite actors such as Tom Hardy and Tom Hiddleston are in their early 40s, which likely rules them out as well.

Other actors who have been talked about possibly being Daniel Craig’s successor as James Bond include Tom Holland, Regé-Jean Page, John Boyega, Daniel Kaluuya, Riz Ahmed, Dev Patel and Henry Golding. It’s only a matter of time to see who will end up taking on the role, and it’s safe to say that Craig is a tough act to follow.

Here is the synopsis of Daniel Craig’s last outing as James Bond, No time to die:

Bond has left active service and is living a quiet life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA shows up asking for help. A mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond on the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.

Directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, no time to die stars Daniel Craig, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw, Lea Seydoux, Rory Kinnear, Jeffrey Wright, Rami Malek, Ana de Armas, Lashana Lynch, Billy Magnussen, David Dencik and Dali Benssalah.
