Of all the studios, WB-Discovery seems to be one of the few going through a tough time. Its main property, the DC comics didn’t pay off to the extent that the studio wanted it to. Many productions have been canceled due to loss of confidence in the results.

With the Snyderverse’s cancellation hitting the hardest, fans were still left baffled when the highly anticipated Batgirl was canceled. The studio has more and more as many of its major casting calls have landed in controversial territory, including Ezra Miller, Amber Heard and Jared Leto.
The head of the New Studio cuts corners
After WarnerMedia CEO Ann Sarnoff left the media giant, David Zaslav came to replace her as CEO of WB-Discovery and began laying off employees in a frenzy. HBO and HBO Max have lost 70 of their own, or nearly 14% of their staff.

The film has been touted as a larger plan to cut costs since the Warner Bros. merger. and Discovery. Many of its senior members aren’t entirely happy with the decisions, with batgirl’s cancellation raising the most eyebrows.
The OWN is affected by the shooting.
The Oprah Winfrey Network is one of the most popular talk shows. Hosted by Oprah Winfrey, the talk show’s primary audience is the African American population. A report by Variety suggests OWN will lose highly experienced executives due to WB-Discovery layoffs.

These executives include Jennifer Giddens (Head of Marketing) who was previously heavily involved with Universal Kids and Netflix’s Children and since 2013, Head of Programming Mary Beth Cunin, who previously served as Senior Vice President of Programming, Strategy and acquisitions at CMT.

Nicole Nichols (executive vice president of communications and strategies) was the most important of all since she had worked since 2011 at the network. She is still expected to stay on as HARPO’s communications officer and as Oprah Winfrey’s personal representative.
