Concept art for Marvel Studios Thor: Love and Thunder revealed a scene featuring the Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum).
Marvel Studios’ Thor: Love and Thunder was director Taika Waititi’s second outing with Chris Hemsworth in the MCU. The film debuted last month but received the most mixed reception any entry in the franchise has had since. Eternals hit theaters last November. Some of these criticisms focused on the film’s pacing, including the fact that entire scenes including appearances by Jeff Goldblum, Peter Dinklage, and Lena Headey were removed.
Jeff Goldblum ultimately did not return as a Grandmaster in Thor: Love and Thunder, but concept art by artist Laurent Ben-Mimourn reveals how Goldblum was depicted in a deleted scene from Taika Waititi’s film. You can check it below:
In the MCU, Jeff Goldblum’s The Grandmaster is portrayed as the brother of Benicio del Toro’s The Collector, the latter first seen in the mid-credits scene of Thor: The Dark World then appeared in the first guardians of the galaxy film.
Here is the synopsis of Thor: Love and Thunder:
The film finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on an unprecedented journey – a quest for inner peace. Thor. Together they embark on a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s revenge and stop him before it’s too late.
Directed by Taika Waititi and produced by Kevin Feige and Brad Winderbaum, the Thor the sequel stars Chris Hemsworth, Christian Bale, Tessa Thompson, Jaimie Alexander, Taika Waititi, Russell Crowe, Natalie Portman, Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper.
