Surprising Everyone The Flash’s Test Screenings Scored Higher Than Any DCEU Movie Before

In what is truly surprising news for anyone who might be concerned, a recent round of test screenings of the upcoming the flash The movie blew everyone away, scoring higher than any DCEU movie released previously. While that might be a heavy marketing ploy, especially with the high profile issues that have surrounded not just this movie, but the studio as a whole, it’s unlikely they’ll open themselves up to more trouble by lying about the opinions of the test audience.

A PR nightmare, shelved movies and a new studio head

David Zaslav, CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery

As shown left, right and center, over the past two years, Warner Bros. and the DCEU have had their fair share of success. Whether it’s leaking star treatment on the set of Justice League in 2017 by replacement director Joss Whedon, the situation of Amber Heard and Johnny Depp (potentially forcing a rethink of Aquaman 2), or the seemingly constant developments regarding Ezra Miller, there always seems to be some kind of fire for their services of public relations to extinguish .

The merger of Warner Bros. and Discovery in April was seen as a move that could stabilize the DCEU ship, but instead it had the opposite effect. A few weeks ago it was announced that the bat girl The film had been scrapped, which in itself wouldn’t be odd, but given that it was in post-production, had test screenings, and was more or less a $90 million finished product, it was a bold move by David Zaslav.

Fans around the world expected more films in various stages of development to meet the same fate, especially troubled films. the flash movie, but so far no other DCEU movie has followed Bat Girl… Again.

Ezra Miller as Barry Allen

Although not slated for worldwide release until June 2023, test screenings of the film have looked overwhelmingly positive. With the highest test scores in the entire DCEU roster so far and Miller being perfect for the role, which in itself is a controversial opinion, fans of the character split down the middle as to previous portrayals of Miller, the movie is rebuilding its marketing to a point some fans might end up getting excited about its release again.

With the shelves of bat girlthe news broke the flash was being reshot as David Zaslav wanted to take the DCEU in a new direction with his new “10-Year Plan”. Ultimately, this meant that a few elements of the story were completely changed in an effort to rework the final product into something more up to Zaslav’s supposedly high standards.

Spoilers ahead

the flash
Michael Keaton as Batman

Michael Keaton’s Batman is believed to be in up to half of the film’s 140 minutes, suggesting an incredibly large and important role in the story.

Far more surprising news and I’d say no one expected is the cameos of a CGI version of Christoper Reeve’s Superman, when the Flash travels back in time to change his mother’s fate. This is where we also see Linda Carter and Adam West.

Whether those cameos stay in the movie upon general release, whether they change the plan of the movie as a whole as they’ve done many times since it was first announced in 2013, or even if we see it, it’s all still up to see with how turbulent things are over in DC right now.

However, if these reports are to be believed, we may be getting a movie with the quality that DC fans have been deserving of for years, but as with all things DCEU, let’s wait and see, shall we?
