Daniel Kaluuya, who played W’Kabi in 2018 Black Pantherwon’t be back again Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and the actor recently explained why he won’t be returning.
It was previously reported that scheduling conflicts were the sole reason for Daniel Kaluuya’s absence from the MCU sequel. However, based on the actor’s recent comments, it seems that W’Kabi’s absence from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever may have been a creative decision.
Daniel Kaluuya said he was excited for the film, which will further explore Wakanda and characters beyond T’Challa, following the death of Chadwick Boseman.
In a recent interview with Variety, Daniel Kaluuya seemed to confirm that his lack of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was more a matter of history than practicality.
“It’s what’s best for the story, what’s best for the movie,” the actor said of not returning to Marvel for wakanda forever. “I’m excited for this. I’m excited to watch it,” Kaluuya added, expressing his continued support for the Black Panther franchise.
When asked about the trailer for Marvel’s upcoming sequel, Kaluuya replied, “Of course I saw it! It’s incredible.” The W’Kabi actor still seems particularly invested in the Black Panther series even after his departure.
Of course, this may raise questions about whether Daniel Kaluuya will return to Marvel in the future for other projects set in Wakanda. “You know I can’t tell you!” he said, questioned about this possibility.
Looks like W’Kabi’s absence from wakanda forever may have been a deliberate decision, following the character’s dark turn and alleged imprisonment in the first Black Panther film, rather than a necessity brought on by Kaluuya’s busy schedule while working on Jordan Peele Nope.
