When earlier images revealed a very basic first costume for Dominique Thorne’s Riri Williams, it wasn’t entirely clear if she would develop her more recognizable Ironheart armor in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, or if it would be saved for his Disney Plus series. Now it’s clear that Riri will get his first full Iron Man-inspired armor in the next Black Panther after.
The suit does a great job of emulating Iron Man while still being clearly distinct – there’s no way anyone will mistake it for one of Tony Stark’s suits, but its influence is obvious. The black plating also seems to nod to the Black Panther costume, hinting at a Wakandan influence in Riri’s work.
Recent images of Stone heart the filming also seems to confirm that Riri’s armor will continue to evolve and change in her future appearances in the MCU, much the same way Tony Stark’s Iron Man armor did before her.
