On the Marvel Studios subreddit, user EmonMusk asked “Marvel is doing an anthology show about normal people facing crazy happenings in the MCU.” What kinds of storylines do you want to see? prompting countless responses regarding the experiences and issues the average person living in the MCU could bring.
A lot could be said about the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but its consideration of civilians and everyday people isn’t exactly a top priority, and other than brief glimpses here and there, their fate isn’t exactly in the foreground. I, for one, would hate to live in New York City, never knowing how long it would be before the next supervillain showed up to wreak havoc in an attempt to lure out the hero that’s been bothering them.
Insurance premiums must be a bomb
It’s not exactly everyone’s favorite thing anyway, insurance in the MCU has got to be a logistical nightmare and an even bigger expense than it already is.

Imagine having space attacks, superhero warranties, things like The Blip, and countless other scenarios to try to cover for you and your property.
An everyday man’s struggle in a superhero world
By far the most obvious idea to come out of the concept, the idea of seeing an average person without superpowers trying to dodge the attacks of an alien invasion is both a common thing for cinema and a good idea for the MCU.

A quarter-hour short film of an individual navigating their way through rubble, combat, and the event as a whole, while watching the superheroes perform the events of The Avengers in the background the sounds are harrowing and funny in a way, add the portal closing and the threat ending as the civilian in question dies for a dark realistic vision.

Wakandan College and Infinity War
A college drama set in the technological marvels of Wakanda is already a great idea for a standalone series.
“A Cloverfield/found footage style story set in Wakanda. Starts with the middle school characters as the Avengers are spotted arriving and the defense of the city begins. Ends with the characters finally reaching the safety of a bunker only to have half of them turn to dust. – u/DaveFrenzy
Never tackled before, the siege and defense of Wakanda during the climax of Infinity War is packed with good ideas in this hypothetical anthology series. College students getting dusted after a hectic run through town is just one of them.
Poor taxi driver on the battle-worn streets
Two ideas from a user, both equally entertaining. A hospital drama set in the MCU world, with civilians injured from falling buildings, alien attacks, and even, in some cases, direct superhero attacks, would be hectic and frenetic.
“Various Avenger battles from the perspective of a fallout-affected ER (New York, Sokovia, near German airport during Civil War). All of the major events in the MCU from the perspective of a taxi driver who keeps being impacted by them. – u/beariac
On the other hand, a short series of skits involving a poor taxi driver who keeps moving after the last doomsday threat has occurred around him, only to find himself in the same general neighborhood as the next one would make a fantasy comedy series. Add some famous cameos for his clients and you have something worth watching.

What happened after the Snap?
There is a five-year gap between the end of Infinity War and the majority of End of Game which until now has been terribly unexplored.
“Following The Snap, I feel like we should have had movies that could either introduce characters or move certain characters forward between Infinity War and Endgame. That time period is so unexplored and it’s a gold mine of potential” – u/Blueguy16
Families were destroyed, the economy was in shambles, and entire industries lacked work and food. The Snap would have completely changed the world as we know it, but we’re nearing the end of phase four, and not only have they glossed over it so far, but everyone seems to be more or less doing just fine. now.
There were hundreds of ideas in the thread and more added all the time. While it’s unlikely we’ll see anything like what’s been suggested, it’s an interesting idea with plenty of scope for content, premises, and longevity.
