Ant-Man, Eternals, and Shang Chi Easter Eggs in She-Hulk Ep 2

marvel’s She-Hulk: Lawyer saw the return of our Big-Green Attorney Jennifer Walters. The episode titled “Superhuman Law” was directed by Kat Coiro. It starred Tatiana Maslany, Mark Ruffalo and Tim Roth in prominent roles. While the episode had several callbacks and references to past events in the MCU, we’ll be discussing three very cool Easter Eggs – they relate to Eternals, Ant-Man, and Shang Chi.

So let’s go.

Easter Eggs in Shang Chi Ep 2

The reference of the Eternals

Tiamut’s corpse in the ocean at the end of Eternals

She-Hulk has finally answered the fan’s long-standing question – why were there no repercussions for Celestial’s massive dead statue rising out of the ocean? Give a brief recap, in the movie Eternals, the group called Eternals is led by Sersi (Gamma Chen). Together they managed to stop the birth of the Celestial – Tiamut of the Earth, thus saving the earth from the resulting destruction. Still, the Celestial’s giant head and a palm remained to emerge from the ocean.

In episode 2 of She-Hulk, Jennifer in one scene browses her laptop about possible “offbeat jobs”. On the side of one of his web pages, a title can be seen – “Why there’s a giant statue of a man sticking out of the ocean“. It was obviously a reference to Tiamut’s head sticking out of the ocean at the end of Eternals.

Finally, fans’ angry claims about this can be put to rest as Marvel hilariously acknowledged the Eternals’ end.

The Ant-Man Reference

Ant-Man in the Quantum Realm

In the same She-Hulk scene as mentioned above, there is also another hyperlink saying – Finding Ant-Man. Now that could just mean a simple online game interface similar to “Where’s Waldo?”, or it could be a nod to the next Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

What could that nod be? Well, there was a trailer for the movie which premiered exclusively at SDCC 2022. Although it hasn’t been released for the general public yet, its details have surfaced online. It involved the entire team with Hank Pym, Janet, Wasp, and Ant-Man being sucked into the Quantum Realm.

Scott Lang’s (aka Ant-Man) past record has him repeatedly getting lost in Quantum Realm for long periods of time – first briefly at the end of The ant Man, then at the end of Ant-Man and the Wasp to appear only during End of Game, and then now in Quantumania. This hilarious reference could refer to his tendency to repeatedly get lost in the real world.

The Shang-Chi reference

Abomination fighting Wong in Shang Chi

The episode also refers to Shang Chi: The Legend of the Ten Rings. In Shang Chi, Abomination and Wong were seen fighting at a Ten Rings fight club. The Fight Club was run by Shang-Chi’s sister. In this episode, Tim Roth’s Emil Blonsky (aka Abomination) makes an appearance, and trailers have shown that Wong will soon appear as well.

In the episode, however, when Jennifer calls the GLK&H‘s directs Holliway to confirm that she accepted the job and Blonsky’s case, he asks her to see the news. When Jen goes on the news, he was broadcasting a program showing the Abomination and Wong’s fight at the club. The reporter says: “So far, Emil Blonsky’s attorney has made no statement after shocking footage leaked showing the Abomination participating in what appears to be an underground fight club after breaking into somehow escaped from prison”.

Wong will likely be called as a witness for the same thing. He will be called to explain how Blonsky escaped (likely with the help of his portal crafting ring). Afterwards, it might be revealed that Blonsky did it to make money for himself, or that the officials asked him to do it so they could get evidence against the Ten Rings. Either way, it will be revealed in future episodes.
