‘They’re doing the same things they preached against’: She-Hulk latest episode sparks controversy as fans call it hypocritical for having Megan Thee Stallion to further sexualize women

If not to nerf the OG Hulk, She-Hulk now definitely does the rounds of introducing one of its most confusing and confusing arcs by bringing in Megan Thee Stallion to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe as herself. Over the past year, Marvel has completely hijacked its story arc from a dense, compact creative comedy to a transient comedy that only serves to downplay the events around which the plot was built. And it looks like Marvel has no intention of stopping now.

As audiences, do we need to clear our schedules to witness and cherish those few extra seconds of every post-credits Marvel scene? Yes. Do we have to watch She-Hulk twerking alongside Megan Thee Stallion against the backdrop of the New York skyline? No. Why then did Marvel make it an essential program on its phase four slate to poke fun at its fan base by making us witness a scene that could not have been imagined even in the worst case scenario of Mad Libs? ?

In his last episode of She-Hulk: Lawyer, MCU rolled out the red carpet for American hip-hop rapper, Megan Thee Stallion, as she made her franchise debut as a variant of herself. For fans already sore from the whiplash received in the wake of an Unforgivable Hulk, this only adds insult to injury.

What is Megan Thee Stallion for in the MCU?

Absolutely none. Marvel has repeatedly provided below average performance when it comes to its phase four projects, the worst being Thor: Love and Thunder. But when it comes to multiple individually encompassing Disney+ series, She-Hulk It was expected to do better than its contemporaries, given its cast including seasoned talented lead actor Tatiana Maslany, MCU veterans Mark Ruffalo and Tim Roth, and the reintroduction of the ever-beloved Charlie. Cox as Daredevil.

But three episodes later, we’ve only come across one sensational piece of information (other than Captain America’s non-virgin status) and that was Wolverine’s existence in the mainstream MCU universe. Fans not only grow impatient but take offense to the studio’s blatant hypocrisy as She-Hulk was heralded as the forerunner of female empowerment and the latest post credits error did not help to actively contribute to this idea.

Granted, She-Hulk: Lawyer is 18 episodes in length and the series has plenty of time to build its universe and direct its plot, the fact remains that the MCU’s Phase Four is already winding down and has done nothing to elevate Marvel’s status since Loki Season 1. The same goes for Phase films as there is a tangible lack of consistency in certified good MCU films (since the End of Game days), the only exception being the theatrical pleasure which was Spider-Man: No Coming Home.

She-Hulk: Lawyer is now streaming on Disney+, with new episodes every Thursday.
