Prey Star Amber Midthunder has weighed in on the possibility of a sequel to the Predator prequel.
Last month Prey was made available on Hulu and performed very well for the streaming service. The film had the biggest original premiere in the streaming service’s history and was well-reviewed by critics. This has led some to question whether or not the Predator the film will have a sequel.

At the end of Prey, Amber Midthunder’s Naru is ultimately victorious against the Predator but the victory may have been short-lived. The weapon she has at the end of the film is revealed to be the same one given to Danny Glover’s Mike Harrigan by a Predator leader at the end of the 1990 film, Predator 2. This and a clip after the credits indicated that things probably didn’t go so well for Naru and the others after the credits. Now, the actress herself has weighed in on the possibility of a sequel.
Will there be a second hunt?
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Amber Mindthunder weighed in on the possibility of a Prey after. Although she couldn’t confirm whether or not a sequel would be made, she trusted the people behind them to make the right decision:
“I don’t know what the plans are for the future, but I trust the decision that will be made. Dan [Trachtenberg] spent so much time developing this with 20th Century. Obviously, all that time was used to do something really great. I’m sure no one would do anything new if it wasn’t amazing. So I think whatever happens, I think it will be the right choice.

Set in the Comanche nation 300 years ago, “Prey” is the story of a young woman, Naru, a fierce and highly skilled warrior. She was raised in the shadow of some of the most legendary hunters that roam the Great Plains, so when danger threatens her camp, she sets out to protect her people. The prey she stalks and ultimately confronts turns out to be a highly evolved alien predator with a technically advanced arsenal, resulting in a vicious and terrifying showdown between the two adversaries.
Directed by Dan Trachtenberg from a screenplay written by Patrick Aison, Prey stars Amber Midthunder, Dakota Beavers, Stormee Kipp, Michelle Thrush and Julian Black Antelope.
