People first complained and blamed Ana de Armas for the actress’ Cuban accent for the fictionalized biopic of popular but controversial American actress Marilyn Monroe.

As early critics rolled in their reviews, she was praised for her unique portrayal of the character. Variety was the first to report and praise the actress with early reviews showering her with adoration for her performance.
Variety reported the actress’ Cuban accent which appears to be on the edge of the actress’ mouth. The film received very positive reviews as well as a lot of praise for the Cuban-Spanish actress. The news site went so far as to compare Ana de Armas’ mix of Cuban accents to Gary Oldman’s mix of British accents, which nobody seems to care about.

Blond will be available to stream exclusively on Netflix starting September 28, 2022.
