She-Hulk Episode 4 is out and we may have seen a good taste of hell in it. This episode was a lot about wizards and the license to use magic. Donny Blaze, as suspended from the School of Mystic Arts, is not allowed to use the limited knowledge of magic. Wong warned that it could collapse reality and open the doors to dangerous realms.
And that’s exactly what happened, when Donny opened a portal to the realm of hell, which was to belong to the world of Mephisto. But after some research, you should know that Mephisto still does not enter the MCU. Maybe Marvel has bigger plans for him.
Instead, we saw Madisynn emerge from a ring-like portal, which only a wizard can access with a sling ring. Therefore, it is certain that there was someone in this dangerous kingdom of goblins and talking goats, who knew sorcery.
And in MCU, the most powerful wizard lives in limbo, the underworld, which is called Belasco. We just got a glimpse of this portal to hell for a few seconds, but it definitely looked like Belasco’s Limbo in the comics.
Who is Belasco?
Belasco is a wizard from 13th century Italy. He was the true master of the mystical arts of his time. But he decided to impose the knowledge of dark arts and alchemy to connect with the higher gods, especially the demons of other worlds.
Belasco agreed to a pact that these demons or extradimensional entities should be allowed to enter his dimension through a pentagonal arrangement encrusted with bloodstones. In exchange, Belasco was granted immortality and an infinite amount of mystical strength. He has his own demonic appearance in Limbo, who intends to launch a race of demons on Earth.
Clarity of Wong’s involvement
Now, that explains why Madisynn was dropped off at Wong’s via a magical portal. There was a mystery about it since the episode aired. But not anymore! Belasco can sense and keep tabs on all wizards across the universe. Since Wong is the Sorcerer Supreme right now, it’s obvious that Belasco knows him.
When Donny Blaze joked about the mystical arts, Belasco must have intended to direct that incident towards Wong and let him handle the situation.
We really want to see more comic book characters introduced into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But, we can bet that Marvel is ready to tease us with these Easter Eggs right now.
