Captain Marvel 2 by Nia DaCosta or popularly titled Wonders is the next adventure to explore the adventures of Carol Danvers. This will be Nia DaCosta’s directorial debut in the MCU. The movie is also set to feature Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel in her first big screen appearance. Joining this group of two is also Monica Rambeau played by Teyonah Parris who gained her final powers in the Wanda Vision series.
Now that the film is about to have updates in the D23 Expo, we can expect many new details to be revealed. A fast reel that was featured at the event to tease announcements to be hinted at Wonders be a full cartoon madness.

Captain Marvel 2 Director Explains Her MCU Experience
It is a very interesting fact that the directors of the first film will not return for the new project. The new project was directed by Nia DaCosta. This implies that there will be a transition in the theme and key of the suite. According to her, this new Marvel movie is pure comic book madness. But this isn’t the first time she’s shared her experience working with the MCU.
Also earlier, Nia DaCosta explained how much she loved working in this new universe and how much better it was than her past projects:
“It’s much less traumatic to work for sure…[laughs]… But this film also deals with particular, personal, sometimes sad things. But no, it was nice to work in a different world, that’s for sure.
While it’s unclear exactly what trauma she’s referring to, but many fans are expecting that to be her experience in the 2021 horror reboot of candy man.

Nia DaCosta also described that the superhero studio gave her complete freedom to work on the story as she wished:
“It’s incredible… [It’s] After [freedom] that I had on anything. It’s great because we’re all just comic book nerds who want to make a good comic book movie.
Now, that’s a big statement from the director because studio intervention in the work of directors is something very common in the Hollywood industry. Even one of the main reasons cited for the last two disappointing MCU movies is said to be because the studio ran their knives over them.
What is Les Merveilles about?
Wonders will mark the next appearance of Captain Marvel aka Brie Larson after being introduced in the mid-credits scene of Ms. Marvel. While on the other hand, our recently introduced superhero, Kamala Khan, might discover new details about her magic bracelet.

Teyonah Parris is also going to be added to her role as Monica Rambeau and she also recently became the superheroine Photon. It will therefore be worth watching if Nia DaCosta can forge history well and succeed in creating a super blockbuster. More story details have yet to be revealed.
The Marvels will be released on July 28, 2023.
