Coming to the latest buzz this weekend, The Bad Batch S2 has been delayed from its originally scheduled September 28 release date.
Still, to receive official confirmation, eagle-eyed fans had already noticed why the series wasn’t featured during the September Projects lineup in Disney+, and a new listing on a site has revealed that the show would be released on January 4, 2023 for all regions.
We still have to wait a little longer to see The Bad Batch in action and Emperor Palpatine come back again.
Possible reasons for the delay
The Bad Batch S2 had received poor reviews for the storytelling approach they took, whatever series was quite enjoyable and also got renewed for a new season almost immediately which was supposed to release on September 28th this year. But fans noticed it didn’t appear in the September Disney+ releases and were disappointed it could be. delayed again at a later date from now, the date is January 4, 2023.
The only possible reasons for delays may be production delays, animation issues, or conflicting release dates.
The third option seems like the most likely case, and Disney+ wants to play it safe with so many new content releases floating around. September 21 is also the premier of Andor so releasing Bad Batch S2 on September 28 looks like a bad decision as Andor will be streaming until November and Bad Batch S2 would have conflicting release dates with Andor as well as d other Star Wars and Marvel releases late this year.
January might be a good fit, looking at how fans will have continued Star Wars projects from Andor, the Mandalorian S3 release in February next year, through early 2023.
If this is the route Disney+ has taken in response to Star Wars fans, any Star Wars fan would be happy to watch new Star Wars content almost every week.
