Originally released in 2015 on Netflix, fans had reservations about daredevil but ultimately warmed to the series upon release. The series’ success allowed for more spin-offs and crossover events as the Defenders saga continued to grow.

The show has been praised for its gritty take on crime in Hell’s Kitchen and also for the way Matt Murdock switched between his vigilante persona and his law career. It starred Charlie Cox as the Man Without Fear and Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk, aka the Kingpin.
Cancellation of Netflix’s Daredevil
Similar to the Snyderverse, the cancellation of daredevil drew widespread disappointment and criticism from fans, as they demanded the show be restored. While the show’s renewal hopes weren’t dead, it moved on to Disney+.
Fans eventually started a campaign called #SaveDaredevil to bring the show back. Eventually realizing that Daredevil’s potential audience was untapped, Marvel tested the waters with the inclusion of Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Coming Homewhich was favorably received.

Eventually, Marvel announced the resumption of the show as Daredevil: Born Again at San Diego Comic-Con 2022. Slated to join MCU in Phase 5, it has become one of Marvel’s most anticipated productions.
Charlie Cox thanks fans for the support
Charlie Cox was thrilled by the revival and hasn’t stopped talking about the show ever since. He also took the time to thank the fans who made it possible in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter at D23, saying:
“I feel like I owe them a massive ‘Thank You’… You know, the SaveDaredevil campaign, they campaigned so hard for that and there were times when I met some of them when they came to see a play I was doing in New York, where my friends would follow them online and tell me about things they’re trying to do and raise awareness.

Following the cancellation, fans had started a petition on Change.org which garnered 100,000 signatures by early January 2019. Fans then spread the message through hats and t-shirts, allowing the movement to grow further .
Daredevil: Born Again should be released in the spring of 2024.
