David Scott Jaffe, game designer and director of The God of War, argues about people not supporting or liking female-led Marvel shows or movies. In his argument, he called the show’s male critics misogynistic, homophobic, and racist. The game’s designer mentioned in a series of tweets how people specifically dislike the depiction of women who don’t yearn for male approval.

The tweets quickly became a talking point for many Marvel fans, with some defending the superhero universe, while others disagreed with David Scott Jaffe. The argument started during an interview with Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson.

David Scott Jaffe slams biased male critics
Responding to an excerpt from Brie Larson’s interview at D23 Expo, one Twitter user said: “Looks like Brie Larson is going out of her way to be as unsympathetic as possible.”
Retweeting this tweet, Jaffe said: “They may say Capt Marvel is a bad movie but here’s the truth: They don’t like Brie because she doesn’t care about them.”
He further said that Larson doesn’t yearn for their attention and that they hate her because she won’t embrace the ugly ring of underdeveloped geeky men.
In his last tweet, he said it’s not just about hating those specific movies that make a person misogynistic or racist. But when someone consistently hates specific female-led movies. But has nothing to say when it comes to bad male-led movies, and that’s what really makes a person misogynistic.
David Scott Jaffe explains why people only like Wanda
He also said that people like Wanda because she is portrayed differently. She’s not like She-Hulk Where Captain Marvel and yearns for his sons and a family, which is what people think women are meant for, and they love him because of it.

He said, “They love Scarlet Witch, a woman who literally destroys universes because she can’t have the man she loves. See the pattern? That’s misogyny and it’s disgusting.
However, Wanda isn’t the only female character that Marvel fans love or appreciate. There have been and will be several female characters that people love and look forward to.
He made these tweets based on the reviews Black Widow, Captain Marveland She-Hulk have received.

As for Brie Larson, she is a great actress. Captain Marvel may not have had the impact everyone expected, but that can’t be blamed on the film’s lead actress alone.

The leading ladies of Marvel
Black Widow introduced Marvel fans to Yelena Belovo, a character beloved by many who will soon be returning to the MCU. She-Hulk also has mixed reviews, not because of the actress, but because of how she’s been portrayed so far.

They’re not the only characters, but fans loved Shuri in Black Pantherkate in Hawk EyeValkyrie in Thor: RagnarokNebula and Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy, and so many other characters. These are some of the powerful female Marvel characters who have been equal to male heroes during any battle.
All in all, there can be many reasons why someone hates a show, person, or movie. Often reason, as David Scott Jaffe called it, is misogynistic. But it’s not always the case. Film critics don’t just see if the movie’s lead role is male or female to pronounce it as good or bad.

This includes a number of things they go through, including story, direction, and acting. However, it would not be wrong to say that in our time, where everyone has the resources, we share our opinion online. And there might be some who just hate female-led movies or shows, but not everyone can be credited for that.
