Another case of corporate interference is believed to be behind the reason the Emmy snubbed Boba Fett’s Book stunt team. The Mandalorian the series’ stunt coordinator Ryan Watson expressed his feelings in an Instagram post regarding Disney’s mismanagement of their franchises. He also pointed out that Gina Carano, a former cast member, was “damn”.

The Mandalorian Stunts Coordinator Calls Disney
Watson took to Instagram to post his frustrations at the failure of the franchise because artists like him are being ignored. He proudly mentioned previous awards received by The Mandalorian series under the supervision of Jon Favreau. “We won because Jon Favreau let us. Thank God for you, sir. I wish I could tell you how much I love you so I’m gonna tell you nowsays the stunt coordinator.
Watson called Disney and said he and his team brought back star wars of a failing franchise. He also made a comparison using Mozart and Salieri, two rival composers in the story. “We had Mozart in our blood, and the Salieri of the world tried to tell us that it was our fault! Our art has remained strong, and we will forever be remembered as the best action Star Wars has ever had..”

Moreover, he had a message for those who did not believe:We won two Emmys and fans noticed real martial artists because real art is undeniable. The corporate world, for whatever reason, just can’t stand it. Art is indomitable.”
A few hours later, Watson gave an update and it looked like Disney was agitated by the post. The stunt coordinator was not threatened, instead he fought back and said, “[Ask] many Gina Carano fans what they think of my message. She too was taken in. Ask Mr. Wilson why he started this mess in the first place. I love my art, and the fans loved it too.”

The company against the artists
Many thought Watson was directly insulting JJ Dashnaw, stunt coordinator of Boba Fett’s Book. He later clarified that he wasn’t talking entirely about himself or the team, but about the frustration each stunt coordinator felt. “What it’s about is that sometimes it’s like you can get a winning formula and then for some reason they just try to change it.”
Most of the time, Watson revealed, stunt coordinators don’t have a say in how the action is shot. “Why don’t you listen to the masters and the artists about what we do? Whether it’s martial arts, special effects, stunts or set construction. They’re all great artists, but there’s always someone who comes in and says, ‘Nah, nah, I want to put this there or whatever.’“Watson compared it to someone approaching a heart surgeon and telling them which artery to cut.
In the end, Watson concluded that he simply wanted the company to let them do their job. “Stop changing our shit. We make you look good. Stop making yourself look bad. It’s your fault.”
