Tell Me Lies Episode 4
Take off your pants and coat, because it’s time for the fourth episode of Tell Me Lies.
Tell Me Lies Episode 4, despite what the name might make you think, is mostly about sexual desire and the desires that come with it. Lucy stays with Stephen even though she thinks he is having sex with other people. Even though she tries hard, Stephen is able to use his manipulative skills to keep her from getting the upper hand in their sexual relationship. This makes her his submissive partner in the end.
Lucy involves herself far more emotionally than anyone should, and the fourth episode shows it so clearly that you want to yell at her and make her see what she’s doing wrong. Viewers can’t stop the strange connection from growing stronger, so all they can do is watch.
In this episode, Wrigley and Pippa’s relationship doesn’t get much screen time, and it’s unclear how they keep Macy’s death such a big secret. Bree’s inner turmoil is understandable, and the fact that she really can’t talk about it is significant. As for Bree, our virgin queen, she’s finally done with it, but it’s easy to understand the pain she feels inside.

Still from Tell Me Lies Season 1 Episode 4
The fourth episode of Tell Me Lies does a good job of setting up the relationships and dynamics that will unfold throughout the series. Still, people who have read the book must be disappointed that Lucy’s eating disorder isn’t a bigger part of the story. However, given Stephen’s work behind the scenes, it may soon be clear on screen.
Because our main character is closed off, it’s hard to understand what she’s going through. One thing that needs more explanation is Lucy’s addiction to Stephen. This is another thing that needs to be clarified. It’s getting more and more annoying that we don’t learn anything new about Lucy that Stephen and his friends don’t already know. In the long run, a voiceover might help the audience understand what’s going on so they don’t feel too alienated from the main character.
The best part of Tell Me Lies Episode 4 has to be the part of the script that talks about Bree, how she lost her virginity and what she thinks about it. Typical depictions of sexuality are usually so exaggerated that they miss the mark when it comes to being relatable. Tell Me Lies, on the other hand, is able, with Bree’s help, to show the less impressive parts of losing her virginity and how sex is different for different people.
Since the last episode ended on a cliffhanger about how Macy’s photos were accessed on Stephen’s computer, this episode should have focused more on those themes. Macy’s death seems to have been treated as a side issue in this episode, which shouldn’t have been the case given its importance to the end of the story. But there’s no getting around the fact that we have to keep our appetites whetted while we wait for the important explanation.
“Final Thoughts” is the name of the fourth episode of Tell Me Lies.
In general, the fourth episode of Tell Me Lies was well written and put together. He pulled away from Lucy for a little while so Bree could shine, which seemed like a big deal. Moreover, it was possible to point out that Lucy and Stephen could be together for a long time, which would prepare the audience for something horrible and devastating. We didn’t drag this episode back and forth between the past and the present, that’s for sure. But if Evan and Bree’s conversation had touched on marriage, it would have been a truly emotional moment.
