Brendan Fraser has made a comeback with his new film, The whale. From earning positive reviews to claiming Oscar-winning potential for his performance in the film, it all looks good for the actor. He’s finally managed to pick himself up and make the most of it, having faced some sort of bad luck for the past few years. Besides The Whale, Brendan Fraser was also supposed to appear as the antagonist of bat girl. However, the film was canceled and it seems that things didn’t go well with Fraser.

Brendan Fraser was cast as Firefly in bat girl and expressed disappointment at the film’s cancellation. Earlier in his interview with Variety, he said it was disappointing and fans really wanted to see the movie. The actor once again jokingly mentioned the canceled film.

Brendan Fraser’s Batgirl Joke
During one of his interviews for The whale, Brendan Frase and the film’s screenwriter, Samuel D. Hunter, were asked about the sequel for them. After listening to the question, Fraser looks at Samuel D. Hunter and asks, “Well, I don’t know, what do you have on board?”

Samuel D. Hunter says he has a game. He says, “You know I’m a theater kid” and goes on to talk about the piece he is working on. When the question comes back to Brendan, he looks at the camera and says: “Batgirl…ohh. After saying that, the actor bursts into laughter with Samuel D. Hunter, and concludes the sentence with, “Inner voice, outer voice.”
The joke was about how Warner Bros. Discovery canceled the film in the final stages of its production. Brendan, who played the main villain Firefly, doesn’t seem happy with the studio’s decision and shared his thoughts on it as well.

Earlier in an interview, he called it disappointing not only for the people who worked on the film, but also for those who were so looking forward to it. However, after its first and last screening at WB, reviews for the film weren’t so positive.
But what can we expect from a movie that was canceled in its final stage? Who knows if the screening had a film that was actually made or just finished to satisfy the cast and crew of the film?
