She-Hulk’s Biggest Weakness
She-Hulk: The lawyer gave us some insight into She-Hulk’s powers. We also saw her having a fight with the Hulk in the very first episode. She seems to have everything under control. However, every superhero has a weakness, otherwise he would be invincible. So the question is, what is She-Hulk’s biggest weakness?
She-Hulk looks stronger than Hulk
In the first episode of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, we see Jen Walters getting her powers. Smart Hulk then takes Jen to his more-or-less secret lab in Mexico to train her and help her gain control. However, here we discover that Jen has no alter ego at all. She is completely in control and aware when she transforms into She-Hulk. So all the years it took for Banner to get along with the other guy living in his head just aren’t necessary for Jen.
She seems to be completely natural. Jen has complete control over when she transforms and can also regulate her anger. She says it’s because she’s dealt with her anger all her life because she’s a woman. Walters shows immense strength when performing stunts such as ground slamming, rock throwing, and cliff jumping. She also mastered the sonic clap in just three tries. Jen even seems to have an advantage over the Hulk when they argue over their disagreement. The entire episode portrayed She-Hulk as quite all-powerful and showed no weakness. So, how indestructible is She-Hulk?
His greatest weakness
Both Hulk and She-Hulk are the product of excessive exposure to gamma radiation. However, Hulk’s strength is actually She-Hulk’s greatest weakness. Hulk is strongest when angry. His anger and rage fuel his strength and increase his power by several magnitudes. In fact, the Hulk is significantly weaker in the She-Hulk episode since he has now taken the smart hulk personality. His rage has become contained and this limits his powers. In all other scenarios such as World War Hulk, he becomes virtually unstoppable as he is fueled by rage.
However, in She-Hulk’s case, her strength isn’t tied to her anger. While she may be stronger than the Hulk in a calm state, he quickly outclasses her in brute force as they become angrier. Also, the angrier she gets, the more careless she becomes in the comics in particular. The process of Hulking out is also variable and depends on each individual. It depends on unconscious hopes, desires, insecurities and fears. In fact, Bruce’s alter ego only exists because of his traumatic childhood and his mental health issues. Jen becomes more reckless, her fighting technique becomes sloppy, and her judgment clouds the more she gets angry.
She-Hulk in the comics
In the Marvel comics, Captain Marvel #15 by Kelly Thompson and Lee Garbett, we see She-Hulk make a terrible mistake and expose her true weakness. In this issue, Captain Marvel is forced by a villain, Vox Supreme, to take down the Avengers. She only has 24 hours to kill five Avengers. In this issue, she faces her biggest challenge yet as she comes face-to-face against Jen Walters aka She-Hulk. Additionally, She-Hulk is one of her closest friends. She is also obviously very strong and powerful. She-Hulk unexpectedly attacks Captain Marvel while Carol is engaged in combat with Black Panther. Captain Marvel is caught off guard and forced to quickly come up with a counterattack, prompting Captain Marvel to channel She-Hulk’s anger against her. His greatest strength turns into his greatest weakness.
Later in the comics, Captain Marvel also uses She-Hulk’s emotions against her. When She-Hulk discovers that it was her dear friend Carol Danvers who attacked her, she has a moment of hesitation. She is understandably heartbroken and confused. This brief pause and emotional turmoil is taken advantage of by Captain Marvel who thinks this was the best time to complete her attack. This basically means that his greatest weakness is his emotions which prevent him from thinking tactically and logically.
