The greatest showman received a lot of love from fans and it impacted their lives through the inspirational dialogues that changed many people’s way of thinking. Fans bombarded Twitter with countless tweets raining love on the film. Here are a handful of them:

But sad news has been announced for The greatest showman‘s fans put by the protagonist of a blockbuster. Hugh Jackman has revealed that a sequel to this 2017 film is highly unlikely. This was revealed in an exclusive interview where he said, and quoted, “There’s no plan, there’s no script yet as far as I know. But it’s good to know.” Along with that, it gave even the slightest hope for the sequel’s chances, which made it a bit ambiguous for fans to take the hints.

The greatest showman is a biographical and original musical film starring Hugh Jackman as PT Barnum, an American showman, businessman and politician – celebrating the birth of show business and the realization of dreams. Unloved by critics but almost revered by fans made it an unexpected hit, the soundtrack album was a hit in the UK and US upon release. The song, ‘It’s me’ won the Golden Globe for Best Original Song.

The main reason critics didn’t like it was the singalong (pun intended), but historically inaccurate plot as it was edited in a way to hide all the less-than-praising aspects of PT Barnum’s real life. Critics would go so far as to call it “cliche“. On the contrary, the aforementioned statement made by the Wolverine star reflects his interest in reprising the role, if given the chance.

Although not much can be said about whether the sequel The greatest showman will come out any day or not, hope still goes nowhere. It would be safe to say that this bad news could be replaced by good news!
