Captain America: New World Order Sabra – the MCU’s most controversial superhero – could become the MCU’s first official mutant

Join the MCU franchise, Captain America: New World Order should finally feature a broader roster of Avengers, including Anthony Mackie as Captain America and the introduction of Shira Haas as Sabra and Danny Ramirez as Falcon.

Announced just after the final of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was released, we saw Sam Wilson being promoted from Falcon to Captain America. The previous film featured Black Panther from the kingdom of Wakanda and now we will see Sabra from Israel join the MCU.

Who is Sabra in the comics?

Ruth Bat-Seraph in most iterations is part of the Israeli force, either the Mossad or the Police forces of Tel Aviv, both of which become instrumental in harnessing his powers, most notably the usual superhuman checklist.

Because Sabra’s powers are the result of mutation, she is closely related to many mutant groups in the comics, including Mutant Underground and Charles Xavier’s Excalibur. His close ties to the X-Men could indicate that the MCU is officially including mutants in continuity.

The future of mutants in the MCU

The inclusion of mutants was murky at best, as Charles Xavier was only included as a cameo in Dactor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Ms. Marvel hinted that she was a mutant. They can finally join the MCU thanks to Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox, which owned the rights to X-men.

Since Sabra is already a mutant in the comics and has strong ties to the X-men, she could not only introduce the concept of mutants to the MCU, but allow more of them to join. Since many of its stories cross borders, we could also include Mutant Underground or Excalibur.

Captain America: New World Order should come out on May 3, 2024.
