‘They’re Not As Noble As The Avengers’: Kevin Feige Reveals If Thunderbolts Is MCU’s Answer To DC’s Suicide Squad

Anti-hero characters from major movie franchises have always been of great interest to many fans of the franchise. suicide squad, as most DC fans as well as Marvel fans already know, is made up of lovable anti-hero characters that have been superbly written. Love at first sight is going to be the movie based on Marvel’s comic book of the same name and will feature some notable names in the cast. The hype is there and the idea is there, but will the new film be able to recruit the same impression that the Avengers batch did for Kevin Feige? Here’s what he thinks.

Thunderbolts Aren’t As Noble As Avengers, Says Kevin Feige

Love at first sight, while looking nothing like the Avengers, are a group of reformed supervillains who will face off against various threats in the upcoming film.

The film revolving around the band will be directed by paper towns director Jake Schrier with Eric Pearson (who has worked on films like Thor: Ragnarok & Black Widow) set up to set up the scenario. The film will star fan-favorite Bucky Barnes, along with six other anti-heroes: Ghost, US Agent, Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Yelena Belova, Red Guardian and Taskmaster.

It’s a nice list of characters, a bit like that of the friends of Avengers (2012)although the film itself is not the best of the avengers line of movies in the MCU. But does main boss Kevin Feige love Team Thunderbolts as much as Team Avengers?

Speaking at Marvel Studios’ presentation at San Diego Comic-Con 2022, Feige took the time to talk about the upcoming Love at first sight film-

“You know, one thing about the Captain America movie is there’s a world right now without the Avengers. Sam Wilson finds himself as Cap in a time when there’s no Avengers organization. But that Just because there isn’t an Avengers organization doesn’t mean there isn’t a superhero group in the MCU Not a group, perhaps, as noble as The Avengers but there is a group and they are called the Thunderbolts.The Thunderbolts are finally coming across the screen and they are a motley bunch.

The president of Marvel Studios presented the anti-hero group in a way that people in the fictional world of the MCU would see them – a “motley heapreformed supervillains trying to make a difference despite not being quite like the Avengers. And that’s okay, it just makes the movie even more interesting.

The fine line between heroes and villains is what the Thunderbolts are currently standing on

It’s not easy to do a 180 and start being the good guy when you’ve been a mischievous character all your life, and that’s exactly what the characters in Love at first sight will cross or act as if crossing.

During the same presentation of the latest MCU Phase Five movie, one of the actors who play a member of the “motley bunch” happily embraced the tag.

Seinfeld Star Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who plays Fontaine’s Valentina Allegra in the film, had this to say about the anti-hero group-

“Kevin described us as ‘ragtag’, so we’ll go with it.”

Sebastian Stan, who is loved by all Marvel fans for his portrayal of Bucky Barnes, followed Louis-Dreyfus’ comments and gave a much more detailed response regarding the Thunderbolts-

“Well, again, maybe that’s what the movie will answer, isn’t it? It’s always interesting when you, as an audience member, maybe have to decide whether we we’re villains or heroes. But I think it’ll be interesting, I think that’s what’s compelling, I guess, about the movie is that it’s kind of very unconventional like that. starts out a bit like “who’s really the protagonist or the antagonist, I guess.”

Mysteries keep almost every topic interesting, and that’s sure to spice it up Love at first sight with all this talk about whether or not they’re the bad guys or the good guys.
