Scarlet Witch Weaknesses
In the MCU, Scarlet Witch has been portrayed as all-powerful and indestructible. She single-handedly tore apart the multiverse, wielded the Darkhold, traveled dream-walking universes, destroyed the Kamar-Taj, and slew the Illuminati. she killed Black Bolt, the Inhuman King, in seconds by rewriting reality and erasing his mouth. Wanda then murdered Captain America and Captain Marvel without even breaking a sweat. However, she is not without weaknesses and can be put in disadvantageous positions. So let’s explore some of its weaknesses.
1. Mental depressions
It is now common knowledge that Wanda has serious mental health issues. She definitely has PTSD. After all her parents died right in front of her when she was just a child, eventually she also lost her brother and then had to kill the love of her life to try and save the planet just for him. see you die again. at the hands of Thanos. So yes, she has issues. While in the MCU, these mental breakdowns caused her to unleash her power and use her grief to drive it forward. This was seen during Avengers: Age of Ultron when she sensed Pietro dying and during WandaVision when she ended up creating the Hexagon. But these breakdowns make her careless and reckless. Her brute strength may increase but she loses all tactical skills and strategies. This makes his defense extremely weak and unreliable.
2. Physical durability
While Wanda is extremely powerful and can use chaos magic to defeat her opponents, she is only human. His body has physical limitations and is only as durable as a human body can be. Her use of magic also drains her physically and is quite draining on her, as seen during Multiverse of Madness. She is vulnerable to all attacks and bullets and was easily injured by Proxima Midnight when Vision attacked. She was also taken by Hawkeye during Age of Ultron when she attempted to brainwash him.
Scarlet Witch can also be overpowered by constant attacks against her, which would prevent her from casting a spell, as it requires time and patience. Thor used this idea during Uncanny Avengers #4. However, she was eventually able to knock Thor out of the battlefield. This fact can be exploited by his enemies although it won’t give them too much advantage.
3. Limitation of collection
This is a weakness that prevents Wanda from expanding her hex without any limit. Her spell has a range and she is limited by her line of sight. Additionally, his ability to cast spells is also very unpredictable. It’s pretty obvious when she just didn’t realize she created the hex above Westview. She didn’t have much control over the hexagon either. However, in the comics, over time she becomes much better at controlling and casting the spell.
4. Unpredictable Chaos Magic
Chaos magic is inherently unpredictable and simply cannot be tamed. It is a power possessed only by the prophesied Scarlet Witch. And often that unreliability backfires when his spell fails. Sometimes his spells went extremely wrong and out of control. This happened during the House of M storyline where one of his spells inadvertently created a monstrous being that was born with the lost powers of all other mutants. His Chaos Magic related powers need to be harnessed and tweaked. This means that she must spend time learning and mastering spells. This is exactly why she needed to practice using the Darkhold after WandaVision and before Multiverse of Madness.
5. Vulnerable to Sneak Attacks
This is arguably one of his biggest weaknesses that can be exploited by enemies. Wanda is a glass cannon, which basically means she has a great attack but struggles to defend herself. If there was some sort of sneak attack planned that she didn’t plan for, it’s likely she would fall victim to it. This is exactly why Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glaive managed to overwhelm and see her with their surprise appearance. This means that someone like Bullseye or The Punisher could successfully shoot her from a distance.
