News related to on-set disputes began with the departure of Shia LaBeouf, with the director claiming she fired him while the actor claimed he left of his own accord. Olivia Wilde had said that the actor had a very combative way of working which did not suit his directing process.

In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Florence Pugh criticized Olivia Wilde for focusing too much on the film’s sex scenes during promotion, as she wanted the film to be about plot and performance. He found the discussion demeaning and she said:
“When it comes down to your sex scenes, or watching the most famous man in the world go down on someone, that’s not what we’re doing it for. That’s not why I am in this industry…”
Their feud escalated further when the actress indicated that she would not be attending the film’s premiere as she was working on Denis Villeneuve Dunes 2.
Florence Pugh rather than Olivia Wilde?
Despite all the rage, the film failed in the eyes of critics, receiving a meager 33% on rotten tomatoes. As tweeted by Matt Ramos, audiences cheered whenever the actor was onscreen, but fell silent during Olivia Wilde.
