‘See you soon, Red’: Daredevil: Born Again reportedly had Jon Bernthal’s Punisher replace Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones due to scheduling conflict

The cancellation of Netflix daredevil was truly some of the most devastating news Marvel fans had ever heard, and they were all pretty mad about it too. But we’re back on track on the Daredevil train again with a new reboot of the series, all thanks to Disney.

Daredevil: Born Again is the latest live-action adaptation of the comic book character and has also been confirmed to be a reboot of the Netflix version. The show will also be the eleventh installment in Phase Five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And it was recently reported that the upcoming TV series will also feature a fan-favorite character from 2015’s Drew Goddard version.

Daredevil: Born Again would have the return of a Punisher

Daredevil: Born Again is going to be a treat for fans of the Netflix version as the series is set to include a record eighteen episodes in its very first season! That’s a lot of hours to keep you glued to the screen.

But that’s not the only thing fans are excited about, the show’s return of Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock has also been rumored to feature a return for Jon Bernthal’s Punisher.

Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones is reportedly back for a Defenders reunion with Cox’s Matt Murdock in another Marvel TV series titled Echo. This led many to speculate that the two defenders were also going to share the same screen in Daredevil’s next reboot.

Those reports are brushed aside, however, by news suggesting the return of Jon Bernthal’s Punisher, which has already made an appearance in the Netflix version.

KC Walsh of The Geeks Worldwide, an entertainment scooper, posted a message on his Twitter account saying Jessica Jones’ slot was being replaced due to a scheduling conflict.

This tweet was followed by another tweet from Cape Town Time podcast host Tom Smith, who was pretty adamant about Bernthal’s return-

It looks like Marvel is reintroducing the characters from the Netflix version, with Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin also slated for a return. Nothing to say from our side!

Quite contradictory to use a Punisher GIF, isn’t it? –

Bernthal’s return as the Punisher would do wonders for the Daredevil reboot, but it’s worth remembering that his return is just a rumor for now, and Jessica Jones still has a place in the TV series.
