During the September 20 broadcast of The Drew Barrymore Showsaid co-host Ross Matthews, “I abstain from having sex, I mean, I did that all through my twenties, didn’t I?” “What’s wrong with me that six months doesn’t seem like a long time?” Barrymore replied ‘Yeah then?’ I thought.
“That’s the headline, we buried the lede there”, Matthews continued. “Drew can go for six months, that’s okay.“
“I certainly [did] on some projects, like when I did Gray Gardens, that movie I did where I played beloved real wife Edie Beale,” Barrymore added. “I was so nervous that I didn’t chat with everyone on set, I really stayed in character.”

Andrew Garfield’s statement on singleness
During an appearance on Maron’s “WTF” podcast, Andrew Garfield stated that there is “a lot of misconceptions about what the method of acting is”, to add, “People always act that way, and it’s not about being an asshole to everyone on set.” It’s really about living honestly in imaginary circumstances, being really nice to the crew at the same time, and being a normal human being, and being able to drop it when you need to and to stay there when you want to stay there.

“I’m kinda bothered by this idea that “method play is fucking bullshit” “No, I don’t think you know what method acting is if you call it bullshit, or if you just worked with someone who claims to be a method actor who doesn’t act at all the method. It’s also very private. I don’t want people to see my fucking toilet pipes. I don’t want them to see how I make sausage.
According to the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute, method acting is a technique invented in the 1900s by Russian theater director Konstantin Stanislavski and later developed by famed acting coach Lee Strasberg.
According to the institute, it encourages performers to use their “physical, mental and emotional selves” to build character while drawing on their own personal experiences for the job. Garfield became celibate and fasted for long periods during the six months he spent preparing for Silence.
