Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige revealed Armor Wars for the first time at Walt Disney Investor Day 2020. The studio confirmed the show during its presentation at Expo D23 2022. Marvel unveiled a new logo for Armor Wars with the question “What happens if Tony Stark’s technology falls into the wrong hands? » Don Cheadle also attended the presentation at Expo D23. He will reprise his role as Colonel James Rhodes, aka War Machine, in the upcoming Disney series.
Since its announcement, fans have been excited to see the War Machine back in action. Marvel recently updated the show’s details on its website. The new update confirms that the Rhodey will operate several new combinations of war machines in Armor Wars.

Armor Wars will follow a similar story to the comics
Armor Wars should follow the comic book story of the same name. The comic is written by Bob Layton and David Micheline with artist Mark D. Bright and Barry Windsor-Smith. However, the show won’t have Iron Man, like in the comics. In the comic, Tony Stark discovers that a villain was using Armor based on his technology.
However, the show will follow up on events after Tony Stark’s death. The basic plot would still be the same, as the series will follow the release of Tony Stark’s technology and be used by villains to fulfill their agenda. Justin Hammer is expected to be the series antagonist, who would use Tony Stark’s technology to rebuild his line of armored suits.
Rhodey will get several high power armors throughout Armor Wars
The show received no mention during Marvel’s presentation at San Diego Comic-Con. But Don Cheadle confirmed the plot of the series at the D23 Expo. He said the show follows the same story as the comic. Tony Stark’s technology will be stolen and Rhodey aka War Machine will take responsibility for getting it back from the wrong hands.
He further said, “And like Marvel does, it’s also an opportunity to take the mythology and flip it a bit and come up with different ways to tell the story, so it does and has done it in spades.”
The new update on Marvel’s official website indicates that fans will see the character in a new light. He further specifies, “Given the title of the series, audiences can expect brand new outfits for the hero, with different types of armor.”
The actor was asked if he would take over from Iron Man in the MCU. He said he didn’t think anyone could step into the shoes of Tony Stark or Iron Man. Additionally, he said that Rhodey was his own character, and on this show, fans will learn more about him. Fans will learn what Rhodey wants, who he is, and what his place will be in the MCU.

Which characters should appear in Armor Wars?
There were rumors that Tony Stark’s daughter, Morgan Stark, would also appear in Armor Wars. There are also rumors that Sam Wilson will also appear on the show as the new Captain America. Fans also expect to see Harley Keener in the show. It appeared earlier in iron man 3 and Avengers: Endgame.
However, Marvel Studio did not reveal any further plot and casting details for the series. Marvel only revealed Don Cheadle as James Rhodes in the cast of Armor Wars. No other cast member has yet been revealed. The studio also did not release details on its release date.
However, Marvel recently added Phases 5 and 6 of the MCU lineup. The new addition is made after Love at first sight and before The Fantastic Fourwhich will be released on September 26, 2024. As Marvel has confirmed Armor Warsit may be the last series added to the MCU lineup.
Production on the show will begin in 2023 and is slated for release in 2024. Marvel has also not announced an official release date for the show.
