Will Smith joins a superhero team unlike Marvel and DC
As Marvel and DC continue to compete to dominate box offices and get people to care about superheroes again, a new movie different from the Multiverses or Dark Alleys is coming lately. The film is based on the book by Marcus Sakey and is titled Glow. It is reported that Will Smith will return to the big screens for the film as the lead actor.

The film takes place in a world where 1% of the population is born with “gifts”. The Department of Analysis and Intervention agent Nick Cooper will be the role supposedly played by Will Smith who is an assassin capable of calculating the probability of future events.
The decision to have the lead role was reportedly approached by Will Smith at Akiva Goldsman, with the duo having worked together in I’m a legend (2007) and Hancock (2008). The film is set to be directed by four-time Emmy and two-time Oscar-winning filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. She is known for her short film/documentary Save face and A girl in the river. The director is particularly known for having directed several episodes of Mrs. Marvel.
Is Will Smith’s career back on track?
After the post-slap timeline, Will Smith found himself in the midst of people’s backlash towards him and his family. Several of the studios wanted to remove Will Smith from their productions for fear of negative publicity.

The actor recently uploaded a video to YouTube titled It’s been a minute where the actor apologized to fellow star Chris Rock and pleaded for things to go back to the way they were. As for his professional career, the actor won the Oscar for King Richard and we will see it later in Antoine Fuqua’s Emancipation alongside Ben Foster which will be released in 2023.
