The highly anticipated introduction to Marvel’s First Family, The Fantastic Fourin the MCU hasn’t given any major news at D23 Expo 2022, but it’s been reported that the writers are already hard at work on a script for The Fantastic Four. Screenwriters Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer have been officially named as Marvel Studios’ option for the Phase 6 launch franchise.
Matt Shankman (Wanda Vision), who was in the audience at D23 Expo when Kevin Feige tapped him to confirm him as the film’s director, obviously came after Kaplan and Springer.
Kaplan and Springer are newcomers to the industry, although they are considered “one of the hottest screenwriters in town, having sold multiple specs in the last year.” One such project is the Warner Bros. comedy. Disaster Marriagefor which Palm Springs manager Max Barbakow has just been hired.

MCU Fantastic Four is not an origin story
The Fantastic Four, which was produced in three films at 20th Century Fox before being acquired by Disney, will not be another origin story, according to Kevin Feige. He declares:
“A lot of people know that origin story. A lot of people know the basics. How can we take that and bring something they haven’t seen before?”
The Fantastic Four will be released on November 8, 2024 and kick off the Marvel Phase 6 storytelling. Although no casting has been announced yet, online speculation is rife. In May Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Jean Krasinski played an alternate universe version of Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, though it’s unclear if he will reprise the role.

During the sequel’s press tour, Sam Raimi remarked to the A silent place the casting of the star as “fan service” implying that a different actor will be cast for this reboot.

The involvement of well-known MCU characters in the film would help make it abundantly clear that, unlike previous films, these characters are inextricably linked to other Marvel films.
