Things got even more complicated when Marvel announced they wouldn’t be recasting Black Panther and would continue the story as it is. This decision led to many changes in the upcoming film. Black Panther 2 Underwent Several Changes After Losing Chadwick Boseman

After the death of the lead actor, the filmmakers had no choice but to make several changes to the film. Not only the fans, but the actors of the film were also not informed of the changes. Actress Angela Bassett opened up about it in August, saying she didn’t know what it was going to look like. Although despite the shifts and changes in the film’s plot, she praised director Ryan Coogler and writer Joe Robert Cole for their creative work.

In his recent interview with Empire, Ryan Coogler discussed the changes made to the film amid the loss of Chadwick Boseman. Coogler said the original film was spiritually very similar to its final version.

Following the events of Endgame, black panther 2 was based on the question, “How do you carry on in the face of seemingly insurmountable obstacles?”

The entire cast and crew of the film faced the same question when news of the actor’s passing broke. After which, Coogler says he wasn’t sure what he would do either. So he gathered the cast and asked them: “How can I find a song they can still get up there and sing?”

In the same interview, actress Lupita Nyong’o also explained how it was so difficult to imagine black panther 2 after losing Chadwick Boseman. She says, “Ryan Coogler walked me through what the movie was going to be like when Chadwick was still alive.”

But after taking a look at the edited script Coogler shared with her, she said it was completely truthful and beautiful. Regarding the changes in the script of black panther 2, the entire cast of the film appreciated the efforts of the director. Ryan Coogler also stated that there would be specific scenes that would remain the same as in the original story.

The one question everyone is curious about is, “Who will be the new Black Panther? Who will take on T’Challa’s legacy and take on the role of Black Panther?

The only speculation about the role is that Letitia Wright’s Shuri will take the throne of Wakanda and Black Panther. A leaked image of a Lego set of the film’s characters may have hinted that Shuri was the new one Black Panther. Now, it wouldn’t take long enough to find out who will carry on T’Challa’s legacy and Black Panther.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will be released on November 11, 2022.
