Fans met HBO’s royal families Dragon Houseincluding the prominent houses first introduced in game of thrones. House Lannister is indeed one of the most well-known and powerful clans in the series, and we have already met one of their ancestors.
game of thrones Cersei Lannister is described as the cunning and ruthless queen of King’s Landing, but two hundred years ago Jason Lannister was far worse than her. Of course, the two characters lived in different times, and while they share the same name and household wealth, they differ in many ways.
House Lannister stands on the platform representing power, prestige, wealth and influence. It’s easy to notice how much they differ from the rest of the houses in the series, even in Dragon House. While they were considered the antagonists of the original series, they were a great ally in the prequel.

House of the Dragonlord of Casterly Rock
One thing that most viewers would remember about Jason Lannister was his arrogance and ignorance which not only upset audiences but also made Rhaenyra Targaryen’s eyes roll in annoyance. Fans might recall that King Viserys I Targaryen once convinced the Lord of Casterly Rock to persuade the princess to join their houses through marriage. This scene proved Jason’s smugness and narcissism.
Cersei was, indeed, more genuinely cruel than Jason, as evidenced by her actions in game of thrones, but the latter is far worse in a non-blunt but still vexing way. His patriarchal mindset and misogynistic views only underscore his true nature – all title and money. Even the Targaryens know how vain and proud he is. From his callous joke about women who don’t go to war because they take too long to prepare to ridicule themselves when he volunteered to marry the princess as compensation”job loss.”

The difference between Cersei and Jason
Granted, Cersei was a well-written character with depth and pattern, while Jason was a superficial character popping up here and there in an effort to offend everyone with his presence. Cersei might even have a biting throwback to her ancestor’s sexist joke.
Indeed, none of them are worthy of sympathy, but, of all the Lannisters we know, Jason is the most unworthy of their family’s title and wealth. Cersei was a queen who ruled Westeros, and her entire family in the original series held high positions and participated in the Game of Thrones. Jason is only famous on the show because he is the only Lannister featured.
Hopefully the Lord of Casterly Rock will have a bigger role in future episodes of Dragon House.
