A teenager deliberately injected mercury into his body to ‘become a real Marvel superhero.’ According to the report, the 15-year-old encouraged spiders to bite him so he could look like the superhero Spider-Man.

The National Center for Biotechnology Information wrote its case. According to the report, the unnamed boy was not poisoned after trying to give himself superpowers. According to doctors, he injected mercury from a thermometer into his arm three times. It was believed that the child was ‘inspired’ by X-Men Mercury and X-Man Wolverine comic book character.

What do the reports say about our real Wolverine?
The report said: “We present the case of a 15-year-old boy, who, inspired by a film, deliberately injected mercury subcutaneously into his forearm, causing an ulcer to form that did not heal. . Surgery was performed to treat the ulcer and reduce mercury levels in the blood and urine. However, the patient did not develop clinical signs of chronic intoxication, demonstrating that subcutaneous injection of mercury poses a low risk of systemic toxicity”.

A psychiatric study reveals that this was not the boy’s first attempt at becoming a superhero, adding that he had previously forced spiders to bite him in hopes of becoming Spider-Man. “Amazingly, he had no other psychiatric disorders and had a normal IQ,” they concluded.
