Elizabeth Olsen has been a central part of the mainstream Marvel Universe since 2015 Avengers: Age of Ultron. The rise and fall of Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch has been both dizzying and vexing throughout her time in the MCU. Although the last appearance marked a horrific start for the former Avenger, the news that followed was revealing of anything but.

Now the Marvel actor, who has been hounded and plagued with questions about his character’s future in the MCU, is stepping off the beaten track a bit and talking about the new hot topic in tinsel town, the rebirth of Hugh Jackman and the X-Men’s official arrival in the MCU.
The X-Men Supremacy era begins in the MCU
The X-Men have always been an integral force of nature to the Marvel Comics Universe. Although shunned and feared at first, mutants grew to be loved and accepted, much like other superheroes in the comic book world. However, their journey has always been infinitely more difficult than that of their counterparts, the Avengers. While the latter have, individually and as a team, been praised and deified, the X-Men have faced threats of segregation, eradication, and extinction many times throughout their existence.

With tragedy and endless loss still trailing behind them, the heroes kept marching on, and now, after a long and divisive journey, the Foxverse characters have finally set foot in the mainstream Marvel Universe, marking the first once an X-Men franchise character can operate within the MCU in live-action cinema. The excitement then becomes manifold when Hugh Jackman, the best and only acceptable version of Wolverine, becomes the pioneer of this drastic transition, even after decisively and irrefutably refusing to revive the role afterwards. Logan (2017).
The film marked the end of an era and was a moving farewell to the character the Aussie actor had portrayed for 17 long years. Well, not anymore.

Elizabeth Olsen talks about the arrival of the X-Men in the MCU
Although Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch was inherently “created” in her MCU origin story, there is an inherent connection between her character, Wanda Maximoff, and X-Men patriarch, Magneto. The comic origin of Wanda Maximoff and her twin was often attributed to being the children of Erik Lensherr, played in the Foxverse by Michael Fassbender and Sir Ian McKellen. Elizabeth Olsen, during a recent interview with Varietywas able to share his thoughts on the question of the X-Men coming to the MCU and what it means for his two home worlds to clash.
“I don’t know. I think if every time we bring in X-Men, I assume Wolverine is X-Men, right? I mean, it would be cool to work with a lot of these people from the x-men franchise. I think [Michael] Fassbender’s [Magneto is] my father in a world? It would be [cool].”

While that sounds like a dream vision for the Marvel x Foxverse fandom, Fassbender, along with Olsen’s characters, have uncertain futures in their respective universes (for now). With the two unified, perhaps Marvel could pull off a miracle, like they did with Jackman, and make that dream a reality. The Supremacy of Evil would truly be a sight to behold.
