Marvel is working on the next Blade project and has already started production. They have already announced lead actor, Oscar winner Mahershala Ali who will play Blade. The film would be different from the previous ones with Wesley Snipes. These will be more Marvel-like instead of having so many gratuitous violence scenes and R-rated scenes. However, there have been some disappointing Blade movie rumors that have fans upset. Here is everything you need to know about the project and its developments.

Marvel Studios’ Next Blade Project Has Run into Problems
The script was reportedly a major point of contention. It is rumored to be only 90 pages long and feature no action sequences. Apparently there are only 2 action sequences that were described as lackluster. It’s not something fans expect from Marvel movies. Now it has been reported that the entire script has been dropped and is being rewritten from the start. Mahershala Ali has been quite frustrated with the project and the way it is moving forward. In fact, Mahershala Ali and Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige are very disappointed with the current script, plot, and production processes. Kevin Feige is said to be “too spread out”.
Controversy with the director of Blade
Blade screenplay will be written by Beau DeMayo who wrote X-Men ’97
Bassim Tariq was the director of the movie Blade. However, with the disappointing developments regarding the script and production, Bassim Tariq reportedly left the project. Some even cited scheduling conflicts as the main reason for his exit from the project. However, there are rumors that Bassim was fired as well because Kevin Feige was unhappy with the results. After its release, Marvel Studios began looking for candidates to replace Bassim as director of Blade. In fact, they would have had a very long list of candidates they were considering. Luckily, we think we have an answer to who will lead Blade. Beau De Mayo will direct the film and has begun writing the new script. He reportedly replaced Stacy Osei-Kuffour as screenwriter for Marvel Studios’ Blade.
