Julia Fox’s comment on the libel suit
In a statement on Twitter expressing support for Amber Heardthe actress and model called Johnny Depp’s victory in the libel suit “One of the greatest tragedies of our lives”.

Julia Fox’s current remarks do not appear to be her first in favor of Heard. In May 2022, Julia Fox defended Amber Heard in a controversial Instagram post regarding domestic violence. The actress wrote on Instagram:
“She never had the power in the relationship to be violent towards him. Did she hit him? Yes. Was it abuse? No. You must have the power to be able to abuse it. She was 25 years old. He was always much more powerful, including physically and financially.

Johnny Depp won the libel case after a jury ruled Heard defamed him in his 2018 Washington Post op-ed alleging domestic abuse, without addressing him. Depp was awarded $10.35 million in damages, while Heard was awarded $2 million for one of his three libel countersuit charges. (Both have appealed their convictions).

Following Virginia’s latest verdict, Depp said in a statement that the jury “gave me back my life” and that the “The best is yet to come” for him. Meanwhile, Heard described the incident as a “backhand” for women speaking out.
