House of the Dragon has given us many amazing characters. Some of them are acclaimed by the fans while others are absolutely despised by them. One such character is Lord Larys Strong. This man is one of the most manipulative, cunning, and intelligent beings in all of Westeros. During his life, he became the lord of Harrenhal, spymaster, torturer and great adviser to the royal family. So there have been theories claiming that Lord Larys Strong is actually a green seer. And that he can anticipate distant events and proceed accordingly, just like Bran Stark from Game of Thrones.
Evidence indicating that Larys Strong is a Greenseer
Lord Larys Strong may be a greenseer in House of the Dragon
Larys Strong has become one of the most important greenside characters in House of the Dragon. He can anticipate the future and take action. In fact, he did Alicent Hightower’s dirty work, giving her plausible deniability. So it’s not that surprising that fans speculated that Larys Strong was a greenseer. This would explain how he planned his complex plans and managed to kill several birds with one stone. We are always impressed by his project of get rid of Lyonel Strong and Harwin Strong. This unique plan made him lord of Harrenhal, weakened Rhaenyra’s side, pledged allegiance to Alicent, and charged Lord Beesbury with the crime. This could also be why Larys Strong was chosen as Lord Confessor and Master of Whisperers during Viserys and Aegon’s reign.
The evidence that supports this claim is first of all the fact that he grew up in Harrenhal. This one was located on the northern shore of Gods Eye Lake, just across from the Isle of Faces. It could mean that Lord Larys wandered the Isle of Faces and heard the whispers of the Old Gods. Maybe he touched one of the trees in the dam wood with faces carved into it. In fact, he could also have met the Green Men who stayed on the island and carried on their sacred traditions. House Strong and these green men were also descendants of the first men. And green vision is most often a trait found in those whose veins are run through by the blood of ancient first men.
Who are the Greenseers?

Essentially, Greenseers are people with a certain special magical ability called greensight. This ability allowed them to see events of the future or even those of the past in prophecy as dreams called Green Dreams. The dreams tell the Greenseer what the future holds in a cryptic way with metaphors, symbols, and images that they then had to decipher. They were very wise men who also had some control over nature.
This brings us to another piece of evidence supporting the claim that Larys Strong is a Greenseer. The first time Larys and Alicent speak is in Godswood. And the Godswood at King’s Landing appears to have a damwood tree with a face carved on it by the Green Men and Children of the Forest all those years ago. This explains why Lord Larys spends his time in Godswood since these trees are an extension of his magical powers. Larys Strong also seems quite in love with nature and flowers.
Bran Stark from Game of Thrones was also a Greenseer

From Game of Thrones, Bran Stark was an extremely powerful Greenseer, Skinchanger, and Warg. Not only could he see past, present and future events in his dreams, but he could even travel and walk through them. Bran also had the ability to influence events from the past that weren’t set in stone. Eventually he was trained and he became an even stronger Greenseer when he became the Three-Eyed Raven. Bran could also use a Heart Tree which is a dam wood with a face carved into it, to venture into his green dreams. It sounded a lot like Lord Larys Strong. Additionally, Bran Stark was one of the most powerful human magic users in all of Westeros. It could also foreshadow the rise of Lord Larys Strong in House of the Dragon.
